Fave places 2012: Wynwood Arts District, Miami FL USA (part two)

Florida - Miami's Wynwood Arts District: lets oneI was overwhelmed in the best way exploring the Wynwood Arts District – not just because of the amount of graffiti, but because of the quality, subject matter and varying styles.

I saw scripts that would be used by designers and illustration techniques that would be used in books – all on garage doors, walls and warehouse buildings.

I also learned about the community and the annual Wynwood Arts District festival – which now has brought this neighbourhood into the forefront of contemporary art.

Art Basel Miami has a lot of competition up the road and I hope the artists continue their exploration of their creativity in this neighbourhood best know at one point as the local police’s impound yard.

  2. Dear Gone to Swan (sorry, I’m unsure of your name!)

I’m sorry to bother you but I’m a freelance journalist and I’ve been asked to write a piece about the five locations famous for their wall murals for the UK’s Metro newspaper. My editor is keen for me to include quotes from travel experts who have their own blogs and I was hoping you will give me permission to use a very short quote from your website – it would appear as it appears below. Obviously I will send through the link to your website and send through a PDF of the article as soon as it’s published. Please could I also check your second name?

    Thank you,

    Regards
