Fave places 2012: Pittsburgh, PA USA (part one)

Pittsburgh - Warhol airportI wanted to visit Pittsburgh for several years. As a fan of Andy Warhol, I wanted to see the birthplace of this artist, and to visit the Andy Warhol Museum.

But it wasn’t just the museum that made my visit memorable – it was the endless amount of art that kept me hopping from major museum to small gallery, and the amount of art spotted on the street as part of the city’s public art program.

I completed several walking tours, seeing traditional and contemporary art, reflecting the city history, the city’s love for sports and the city’s devotion to the ongoing creativity of its local artists.

And I know I just scratched the surface of the art scene.
