Memories of March 2013: Philadelphia PA USA

Philadelphia - Liberty Bell

Visiting the home of the Liberty Bell, the city of Philadelphia was first known to me as a city of American history, a pinnacle part of the development of the United States of America.

When I came to spend several days here in early spring, I was impressed by the history, but blown away by the range of art – from 18th and 19th century European creations to the modern vision of mosaic and collage as seen at Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens.

I revelled in walking the streets to see the city’s mural program and welcomed the tasty treats of a local food scene inspired by the unique immigrant culture and the modern focus on sustainable and locally-sourced.
