Fiesta style – the home edition

In San Antonio, its not just the people who are styling themselves, but the houses of this Texas city are putting on their colours:

The wreath of flowers and ribbons is the traditional way to dress up an entrance:

And I was SO tempted to bring one home – the mix of blue, red, green, yellow and pink flowers and ribbons was a like beacon to me:

But it wasn’t just flowers and ribbons,  there were mini blankets and sombreros also woven into the wreaths and the patterns and stripes added to the celebratory nature of Fiesta. How can you not smile when you see something so vivid?

It reminded me of my theory that although neutral colours may be soothing and “acceptable” to everyone, its colour that makes everyone feel better, happy, fun, joyful and excited. And what’s wrong with that?

Find me a festival that isn’t all about colour – because we all just want to have some fun. Viva Fiesta!
