From temple to temple

The city landscape of Pingyao is dominated by its temples:

And even some entryways looked like the way to enter a temple:

But the real temple, like the City of God in Pingyao, was definitely noticeable:

And after another overnight train ride to Xi’an, a view of the city’s Bell Tower:

I spotted this Buddhist temple from the Xi’an wall:

And the lovely Drum Tower at night with kites streaming above:

But each temple was lovely – the quiet environment and calming surroundings were welcome, especially in the busy big city.
