Travel memories – March 2014 in Samana, Dominican Republic

The lush part of the Dominican Republic – the Samana peninsula and the town of Samana:

Dominican Republic - Samana

This lush area is dominated by Los Haities National Park, home to a many variety of birds and to pictographs left by the ancient Taino People:

Unlike many other parts of the Dominican Republic that focus on the island’s resorts and beaches, Samana focuses on its natural offerings and history. Its a place that not as many visit, but its worthy for those travellers who want to explore.
